Am Samstag, dem 3. Mai um 20 Uhr, ist das kenianische Musik-Duo erneut in Wuppertal zu Gast. Im Sommer 2019 präsentierten sie vor etwa 300 begeisterten Gästen ihr Debüt-Album „Agore“ im Garten des KuKuNa Ateliers. Das war gleichzeitig das Debüt Konzert auf ihrer Europa-Tournee. Jetzt kehren Odd Okoddo mit ihrem zweiten Album „Negore“ zurück.
Der aus Hamburg stammende Sven Kacirek und Olith Ratego arbeiten mit einer fesselnden Mischung aus avantgardistischen elektronischen Rhythmen und zeitgenössischer Folk-Tradition des kenianischen Luo-Volkes. Das Ergebnis dieser Stilmixtur nennt der Sänger und Instrumentenbauer Olith Ratego „Dodo-Blues“.
Bei ihren Live-Auftritten interpretieren ODD OKODDO immer wieder neu. Sie lassen sich vom Spirit der Klänge führen, so dass jedes Konzert zu einer neuen Erfahrung ihrer Lieder werden kann.

The Kenyan music duo ODD OKODDO will be back in Wuppertal on Saturday, 3 May at 8 pm. In summer 2019 they presented their debut album "Agore" to around 300 enthusiastic guests in the garden of the KuKuNa Atelier. This was also the opening concert on their European tour. Now they come back with their second album "Negore".
Hamburg-born Sven Kacirek and Olith Ratego work with a captivating mixture of avant-garde electronic rhythms and the contemporary folk tradition of the Kenyan Luo people. The singer and instrument manufacterer Olith Ratego is calling their style "Dodo Blues".
In their live performances, ODD OKODDO constantly reinterpret their music. They let themselves be guided by the spirit of the sounds, so that every concert can become a new experience of their songs.
