Beim Konzert im Pina Bausch Zentrum wird die Vielfalt, die Charles Petersohn auf seiner Produktion „Children Of Zu Zu“ vereint hat, der Stilmix aus Housemusic, Jazz, Funk und Dubmusic mit der kompletten neuen Band zelebriert: Maria Basel (Keyboards), Antonia Nickel (Drums), Maxime von Koblinski (Percussions), Amaka (Gesang), Luca Greco (Soundmix und Samplings) gewinnen. Charles selbst spielt den Digitalbass und wird singen. Auch die Besetzung der Musiker*innen stellt eine unverkennbare Vielfalt dar.

Hier passt das Zitat des amerikanischen Blues- und Free Jazz Musikers James Blood Ulmer: „Jazz is the teacher. Funk is the preacher!“

Während des Konzerts und danach wird Tobias Daemgen vom Künstler-Kollektiv RaumZeitPiraten das Foyer des Hauses mit Lichtkunst illuminieren. Mit dieser Lichtkunst werden die Schönheit und Besonderheit des Foyers und des japanischen Gartens des ehemaligen Schauspielhauses besonders ins Licht gesetzt. Der Fotograf Daniel Schmitt wird für den Abend ein Foto Reel aus freien Arbeiten seiner Fotokunst präsentieren.

Dafür wird Charles Petersohn eine Musik-Collage aus verschiedenen Ambient-Musiken zusammenstellen.

„Die Aussicht, dass dieses wunderschöne und weltbekannte Haus auch in Zukunft ein Aushängeschild der Stadt Wuppertal sein wird, und wir dort unser Debütkonzert spielen können, erfüllt uns mit großer Freude und Demut. Wir empfinden es als Geschenk, Teil des künstlerischen Entstehungsprozesses des Pina Bausch Zentrums (under construction) sein zu können. Nach mehreren Erfahrungen, die ich dort selbst mit Theatermusik, Livemusik und als DJ machen durfte, ist es ein Geschenk. Meine persönliche Dankbarkeit bringe ich mit einem Song zum Ausdruck, der speziell für diesen Abend komponiert wurde!“ Zitat C.P.

Diese Veranstaltung ist eine Kooperation des Pina Bausch Zentrums „uc“, der LOCH UG, Thöne & Partner, Knipex und Charles Petersohn Music.

The concert at the Pina Bausch Centre will celebrate the diversity that Charles Petersohn combined on his production "Children Of Zu Zu", the mix of styles from house music, jazz, funk and dub music with the full and new band: Maria Basel (keyboards), Antonia Nickel (drums), Maxime von Koblinski (percussions), Amaka (vocals), Luca Greco (soundmix and samplings) win. Charles himself will play the digital bass and sing. The line-up of musicians also represents an unmistakable diversity.

During the concert and afterwards, Tobias Daemgen from the artist collective RaumZeitPiraten will illuminate the foyer of the house with light art. This light art will highlight the beauty and special features of the foyer and the Japanese garden of the former theatre. The photographer Daniel Schmitt will present a photo reel of free works of his photographic art for the evening.

Charles Petersohn will put together a musical collage of various ambient music.
